ZEROBASEONE is set to make a full-scale push into Japan.
ZEROBASEONE (Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Jang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Riki, Kim Gyubin, Park Geonwook, Han Yujin) released the Japanese special EP "ICONIK" on various music sites today (29th) at 12 a.m.
"Iconik" is an album that embeds the nine members' bold aspiration to continue shining higher with the powerful message that "regardless of others' evaluations, we can be iconic ourselves." The album includes three tracks all sung in Japanese by ZEROBASEONE: the title track of the same name "Iconik," "Slam Dunk (SLAM DUNK)," and "Blue (BLUE)," the title track of mini album 5 "Blue Paradise (BLUE PARADISE)."
Recently, ZEROBASEONE rode a syndrome-level response in Japan to appear consecutively on prominent music programs such as TV Asahi's Music Station and TBS's CDTV Live! Live!, heating up local fans' enthusiasm. While presenting the Japanese version stage of "Iconik," they once again stamped an iconic presence with lively performances.
In addition, ZEROBASEONE is conducting a special campaign with Central Japan Railway Company. The participatory event for Shinkansen riders operated by Central Japan Railway Company offers a special message video from ZEROBASEONE and smartphone wallpapers, and also awards prizes including items with members' handwritten signatures by lottery.
ZEROBASEONE debuted in Japan last March with their first single "Yura Yura -Unmei no Hana- (ゆらゆら -運命の花-)" and achieved a half-million seller within a week of their local debut, setting the highest figure among debut albums by overseas artists at the time and surprising many. They then topped both the Oricon weekly album ranking and the weekly combined album ranking with their first EP "Prezent (PREZENT)," released in January, and ranked fourth in Billboard Japan's 2025 midyear "Top Album Sales." With steadfast support from local fans, ZEROBASEONE followed the Asia category Best New Artist award at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards with the first, and is forecasting another record run with this special EP "Iconik."
Meanwhile, the "2025 ZEROBASEONE WORLD TOUR 'HERE&NOW'" held at Saitama Super Arena from today (29th) through the 30th demonstrated ZEROBASEONE's powerful ticket-selling ability, with additional limited-view seats opened due to enthusiastic support. Thus, ZEROBASEONE is expected to continue an accelerated campaign to conquer Japan, not only with the release of the Japanese special EP but also through local broadcast appearances, fan participatory events and a world tour.
