Comedian Lee Yong-sik is about to take on a special challenge with his granddaughter.
On the 28th, his daughter Lee Su-min posted on her social media, "On Saturday, Nov. 1, Grandpa Lee Yong-sik will attempt a marathon! He said he wanted to join a stroller marathon with his granddaughter Lee-el, so I thought it was a joke, but it was real," along with photos.
In the released photos, Lee Yong-sik is beaming as he places his granddaughter in a stroller. Wearing his cap backward and striking a bold pose, he showed an exuberant mood. By contrast, the granddaughter sat with a bewildered expression, bringing smiles to viewers.
Lee Su-min added, "It might be the first time a man in his 70s attempts a stroller marathon," and asked, "Please send lots of support and prayers for the granddaughter and grandfather's challenge this Saturday."
Earlier, Lee Yong-sik drew attention after starting a diet because he wanted to spend more time with his granddaughter and successfully lost 19 kilograms. On KBS2's The Manager Is Ears Are Donkey Ears (KBS2: 사장님 귀는 당나귀 귀), he joked, "When I looked in the mirror in the morning, I could see my uvula. It was the first time I realized I had a uvula."
Meanwhile, Lee Yong-sik's daughter Lee Su-min married trot singer Won-hyeok last year and gave birth to a daughter in May. The couple are currently living at Lee Yong-sik's home in Pyeongchang-dong and focusing on childcare.
