Twenty-year-old Gyubin expresses the irony of love.
On the 28th Gyubin released her third single "CAPPUCCINO," capturing the complex emotions of a twenty-year-old girl who has just entered her twenties.
Gyubin, who has built her position as a "next-generation singer-songwriter," delicately unfolds the complex emotions of love by likening them to the taste of a cup of cappuccino in her new song "CAPPUCCINO," a track where refreshing guitar riffs and tasteful drum patterns create a bright harmony.
Through this new song Gyubin vividly conveys the honest emotional line of a twenty-year-old girl who turns away but is drawn back again, comparing the deep bitterness of espresso hidden beneath the soft sweetness of white foam and the subtle changing textures of emotion with each sip.
In particular, she raised the song's completeness by collaborating with a star-studded lineup of global songwriters. Sebastian Thott, who has produced numerous hits for aespa, ITZY and Chungha; Jonna Hall, who participated in songs for LE SSERAFIM, Choi Yena and Fifty Fifty; global songwriter Ciara Muscat; and lyricist Jo Yoon-kyung, a hitmaker behind songs for Taeyeon and Red Velvet, all contributed to deepen the song.
Gyubin said, "'CAPPUCCINO' is a song that captures the taste of love I felt. It's sweet, then bitterness quickly rises, and at another moment it becomes soft again... Those moments felt just like my heart right now. Even the bitterness within the white foam, love is never simple, but this complexity is my most honest self. Now, would you like to take a sip?", sharing her thoughts on the new song.
Gyubin also produced two versions to offer deep empathy and lingering resonance to global listeners: a Korean version that delicately expresses clumsy feelings and inner conflict, and an English version that delivers emotions in a more straightforward and candid tone.
Meanwhile, Gyubin's third single "CAPPUCCINO" can be heard today (the 28th) at 6 p.m. on various online music sites.
