Actor Kim Jun-ho expressed ambition for a long-form drama.
On the 27th, Channel Sipo-ya hosted a live broadcast titled "Special interview with Typhoon Family's President Kang Tae-poong and chief Om Mi-seon," featuring lead actors Lee Jun-ho and Kim Min-ha from the tvN weekend drama Typhoon Family.
On that day, producer Na Young-seok asked the two actors, "When you first received the script offer, what caught your attention and made you interested?" In response, Lee Jun-ho said, "I was interested in depicting that era. And I thought it would be a long-form drama, so I really wanted to do it."
He said, "These days content moves quickly, and you don't often see 16-episode series. In that sense, the longer the drama's run, the more you can put love into it and live it as if I were living it, so I wanted to take on a long-form drama." He added, "When I received the script I think I had up to episode four, and as I read it I immediately saw what it wanted to express. I thought it would be so much fun, and at that time I wanted to take on the challenge."
Producer Na Young-seok frankly asked, "Do scripts you don't want to do not read well?" Lee Jun-ho said, "I dare say there is no drama I don't want to do," but explained, "(When it fits) I read it all right there. I'm so curious I read it while eating, and even when I was sleepy before bed sleep wouldn't come. I immediately focus."
Producer Na Young-seok marveled, "So that's what it means to have chemistry," and Lee Jun-ho said, "Everyone is different," and asked, "How about you, Min-ha?"
Kim Min-ha said, "When I first received the script it felt so warm. Each line really resonated with me. There were many such scenes. No character felt unimportant. Many characters appear, but they are all necessary. I felt that everyone is precious and needed, so telling this warm, romantic story was very appealing to me, and I really wanted to do it well and it felt precious."
Hearing this, producer Na Young-seok said, "You used the expressions 'good drama' and 'warm drama' the most. I think those aspects largely attracted these two actors and moved them to do this drama."
