TV CHOSUN hyperrealistic documentary variety show "Matchmaker of Joseon" featured Revival's Kim Tae-won enjoying a one-day date with the "New York son-in-law" Devin, where they opened up to each other. Also, thanks to his wife Won Jin-seo, Yoon Jung-su took a step toward a "decluttering life" by disposing of sentimental items.
On the 27th episode of "Matchmaker of Joseon," Kim Tae-won went on a one-on-one date with Devin. Unlike past days when they had difficulty communicating because of the language barrier, Devin's AI app that provided simultaneous Korean-English translation allowed warmer conversations between the two. Kim Tae-won said of his first impression of Devin, "When I saw Devin, I felt like he was a gift," offering a touching moment.
Devin said that from his first meeting with his wife Kim Seo-hyun they had remarkably similar interests and he jokingly proposed, explaining he felt a fateful attraction. Kim Tae-won responded with a smile. When the conversation turned to plans for children, Devin expressed his hope, "Around my 40s I'd like to have two children, a daughter and a son." Kim Tae-won replied, "Tell him that it doesn't work out as you wish," prompting laughter.
Kim Tae-won further strengthened his bond with his son-in-law by taking him sightseeing to the Hongdae street known as the "indie band mecca," a place he often visits, and to a fishing spot. At the fishing spot, Devin asked about the time they spent apart from family. Kim Tae-won calmly shared his feelings, saying, "I don't have the right to talk about that loneliness. My family must have been twice as lonely. I can't complain because I know."
He said, "At that time it was truly desperate. My wife took care of all of it. I used the excuse of making money..." and reflected, "I said goodbye to my family at the airport and started doing variety shows." In Kim Tae-won's confession, regret surfaced as he realized belatedly the hurt young Seo-hyun must have felt while the whole family devoted themselves to their ill son. Kim Tae-won expressed gratitude to Devin for becoming part of the family, saying, "I think I can entrust Seo-hyun to him. Devin truly is our family's joy and good fortune."
Meanwhile, Yoon Jung-su, who moved in with his "future bride" Won Jin-seo, revealed their newlywed home. Won Jin-seo said, "There is really so much stuff. My goal is to sort everything out and return empty-handed," and showed firm resolve to organize Yoon Jung-su's accumulated belongings at a flea market she had reserved in advance. Comforting a distraught Yoon Jung-su who did not want to part with items, she ruthlessly selected about one truckload's worth of items, including a sofa, chairs, dishes, various clothes and fashion accessories, and an electric hoverboard. On the way to the flea market, Won Jin-seo, a devoted viewer of "Matchmaker of Joseon," continued showing affection, performing a cute "three-step honey" act in front of the truck driver.
At the flea market, the clever "sales queen" Won Jin-seo's efforts quickly sold Yoon Jung-su's sentimental items. While Yoon Jung-su stepped away to participate in an auction, a customer chose the electric hoverboard he had stubbornly hidden and didn't want to sell until the end. Stunned that the hoverboard had been sold, Yoon Jung-su joked, "If you'd like to put the hoverboard back on sale... please contact TV CHOSUN," drawing laughter. The crew purchased the last remaining sofa, and the two earned a total of 546,000 won in sales that day. After tidying up the flea market, a somewhat detached Yoon Jung-su gave Won Jin-seo a congratulatory hug, creating a heartwarming moment.
