Actor Kim Min-ha revealed the secret to her excellent English skills.
On the 27th, Channel Sipoya hosted a live broadcast titled "Special interview with Typhoon Family's CEO Kang Tae-pung and manager Oh Mi-seon," featuring tvN weekend drama Typhoon Family lead actors Lee Joon-ho and Kim Min-ha.
On that day, producer Na Young-seok, after seeing a scene in which Oh Mi-seon (played by Kim Min-ha) delivers a fluent English speech, pressed, "Answer honestly. During the filming of that scene, was someone holding the English lines in front of you?"
Kim Min-ha immediately replied, "No one was holding them." Lee Joon-ho said, "I even received that line just a few days before," and producer Na Young-seok marveled, "Those who know will know, but isn't she really good at English? An English kid."
Kim Min-ha said, "That's right. She's good at English. Actually, I did go abroad for language study a few times for a few weeks, but I spent much more time studying in Korea, so I can understand Mi-seon studying alone like that. The thrill you get when you show someone what you've worked hard on—that resonates with me."
Producer Na Young-seok said he was touched, "It was a scene planned to pass quickly, but the deliberate emphasis feels meaningful. Struggling to study, preparing nervously and then presenting it wonderfully—the image of growing up." Kim Min-ha noted, "The feeling that 'one day it will come true' is really deeply reflected in Mi-seon. She always wanted to be a corporate man, but she gave up because she couldn't take the college entrance exam properly, yet her dream comes true. There are movie-like moments of 'one day I can perform as a corporate man' and hopeful messages like 'if you work diligently and quietly, one day you'll get there' that are abundant in Mi-seon."
Producer Na Young-seok said, "Seeing her deliver that speech so well in English gave me the exact feeling of 'it would be so reassuring to have such a wonderful employee in our company,'" and Lee Joon-ho expressed pride, "So the final expression felt very reassuring. 'I'm sorry the boss can only do this much,' 'I'm just rolling the film, but our employee is so good'—that kind of feeling."
Producer Na Young-seok was especially curious and asked, "Why are you so good at English? You said you attended academies, right?" Kim Min-ha replied, "I attended academies diligently, and honestly I've been learning English for as long as I can remember my age. It's really a matter of time," revealing she had studied English steadily since childhood. Producer Na Young-seok encouraged, "If you work hard, you can do it too."
