The group ILLIT is set to sequentially reveal the veiled concept of their new release ahead of their comeback on Nov. 24.
ILLIT (Yoonah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) posted a promotion calendar for their single album 1 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' on the team's official social media channels on the 27th.
According to it, ILLIT will hint at the new release's mood on Dec. 3 with a track motion containing the tracklist. Then on Dec. 10 and Dec. 12, they will respectively release concept photos of the 'NOT CUTE' and 'NOT MY NAME' versions, which arouse curiosity by name alone.
Hints about the title track music video can be seen on the moving poster on Dec. 17 and in two official teasers on Dec. 21 and Dec. 23. The long-awaited new release and music video will be released at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24.
The phrase written on the calendar image draws attention. "Saying only 'cute' is boring. It means you don't know me well yet. How diverse my tastes are, that sometimes I may seem cold. Some days I'm childlike, some days I'm mature. Other days I'm somewhere in between. Even when I'm smiling my head can be complicated, and even with a serious expression my heart might flutter. So you cannot define me in one word. I'm not just cute," the phrase contains the message ILLIT wants to convey through their single album 1, raising fans' expectations even more.
The kitschy pattern design also stands out. It is a collaboration between ILLIT and British fashion brand "Ashley Williams," and this pattern can be found throughout the single album. It is used on two types of merch albums: an 'Ashley Williams' pouch version and a doll keyring version collaborated with the domestic steady-seller character "Little Mimi," adding stylish appeal. As soon as a pack shot that offered a sneak peek at the actual design was released the day before, it drew enthusiastic responses from global fans. Previously, ILLIT, which targeted the tastes of not only people in their teens and 20s but also the general public with the in-ear earphone merch album for mini album 3 'bomb,' is continuing its trend-icon path with another stylish collaboration.
The single album 1 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' is an honest story of 'me' who has begun to feel that the me the world sees and the me I see are not the same. With the bold declaration 'I'm not cute anymore,' anticipation is growing over what kind of music ILLIT will bring with this new change.
Ahead of their comeback, ILLIT will hold '2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN SEOUL ENCORE' over Nov. 8-9 at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa District, Seoul, to meet fans. The shows sold out all performances on the first day of presale, proving ILLIT's ticket power.
