Lee Seung-chul "You have to try marriage once or twice"…an honest line born from experience
On My Little Old Boy, Lee Seung-chul captured attention with a bold talk.
On the 26th episode of SBS My Little Old Boy, singer Lee Seung-chul appeared as a special guest. Shin Dong-yup introduced him as "a brother whom Yoon Min-soo really adores," and Lee Seung-chul warmed up the atmosphere with his characteristic blunt manner of speaking.
He said, "You have to try marriage once or twice to understand," surprising everyone. He added, "After that you really meet the partner who suits you," candidly sharing from his own experience.
In fact, Lee Seung-chul married actress Kang Moon-young in 1995 but divorced after two years. He then remarried in 2007 to a businessman two years his senior and now has two daughters. He said that day, "The eldest daughter is a child I gained through remarriage. When I first met her she was in the third year of middle school and in puberty. There was a wall in her heart, but as we lived together I found many things in common," and showed affection, adding, "Now she rather confides her worries to me before her mother."
Recently his eldest daughter announced her marriage at age 34 and proudly said, "The congratulatory song was by Jannabi, and for the second part of the reception I called a band and prepared it like a concert," bringing laughter.
Viewers who watched the broadcast responded with comments such as "It's funnier and more touching because it's from personal experience" "I like his honesty. He seems to be living well and it's nice to see" "His pride in his daughter is full of happiness" and offered support. After overcoming pain, Lee Seung-chul's deep affection for his family is evident.
