Daily Sports-hosted "2025 Korea Grand Music Awards" (KGMA) lineup adds Dayoung of the group WJSN (WJSN).
The KGMA organizing committee said on the 27th that Dayoung has been included in the lineup for "2025 Korea Grand Music Awards with iM Bank" (2025 KGMA), to be held Nov. 14 and 15 at Incheon Inspire Arena. With this, Dayoung will participate in her first awards ceremony since her solo debut.
Dayoung will attend the "2025 KGMA" music day on the 15th and is expected to perform stages including her solo debut song "body." Along with the solid musical abilities she has built up over the past nine years, she is expected to fill the stage with performances that show passion and sincerity, proving her presence as a solo artist.
Dayoung made her solo debut by releasing her first digital single album "gonna love me, right?" on Sept. 9, about nine years after her debut.
The title track "body" captivated the public with its addictive melody and refreshing vocals, ranking No. 9 on Melon Top 100 and No. 3 on Hot 100. As of the fourth week of October, it rose to No. 13 on the weekly chart, and on Bugs it hit No. 1 on the real-time chart and No. 3 on the daily chart, striking major domestic music charts.
In particular, the "body" challenge, featuring many K-pop artists, actors, dancers and creators, excited domestic and international listeners with Dayoung's unique cheerful and healthy energy, leading to global success.
Through "body," Dayoung proved a clearer musical world and remarkable growth as a solo artist, and she achieved her first music show first-place trophy after her solo debut on Sept. on SBS funE's "The Show." Major foreign media including Forbes, NME and Fox 13 Seattle highlighted Dayoung's solo debut, and MTV channels in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and Italy also paid attention to her activities, expanding her global influence.
Having repeatedly drawn attention with her brilliant moves since her solo debut, expectations are rising about what surprises Dayoung will present on the "2025 KGMA."
Meanwhile, KGMA, now in its second year, will offer fans around the world a more glamorous and diverse experience through stages that combine musical evolution and cutting-edge technology. The two days on Nov. 14 and 15 will be held respectively as "artist day" and "music day," and the lineup will include The Boyz, Miyao, Park Seojin, BOYNEXTDOOR, Psykers, INI, ATEEZ, Xdinary Heroes, ALLDAY PROJECT, Woods, Lee Chanwon, CRAVITY, KiiiKiii, Fifty Fifty, SMTR25 (first day, in alphabetical order), and Nexzi, Lucy, BTOB, Suho (EXO), Stray Kids, I-DIT, IVE, Naup, Yunis, Jang Minho, Close Your Eyes, KISS OF LIFE, KickFlip, fromis_9, P1Harmony, Hearts2Hearts and others including Dayoung, totaling 32 acts that will decorate unforgettable memories of a K-pop festival. Following last year, actress Nam Jihyun will host both days; she will be joined by Irene (Red Velvet) on the first day and Natti (KISS OF LIFE) on the second day.
KGMA is hosted by Daily Sports (Edaily M) and co-hosted by the KGMA organizing committee, Creatoring and DIO, with support from Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Tourism Organization. Title sponsor iM Bank is participating, and KT ENA will participate again as the broadcast partner. Hanteo Chart, GENIE MUSIC, FLO and Bugs provide music and album data.
