House on Wheels - Beyond the Ocean actor Jang Nara has established herself as the youngest, while actor Gong Myoung appeared as the original youngest.
On the 26th episode of the tvN variety show House on Wheels - Beyond the Ocean (hereafter House On Wheels), Seong Dong-il, Kim Hee-won, Jang Nara and Gong Myoung departed for Yoichi village in Hokkaido, Japan. The summer scenery of Hokkaido, the setting of the film Love Letter, was truly spectacular. Seong Dong-il said, "The weather here is already cool," expressing amazement.
Seong Dong-il said, "I like the characteristics of Hokkaido. I like how the view stretches out," and mentioned positive energy along with Kim Hee-won. Jang Nara followed the seniors cutely, saying, "Good, good. Positive, positive."
The guest that day was Gong Myoung, who was the youngest in season 3. Standing side by side were Seong Dong-il, Kim Hee-won, Gong Myoung and Jang Nara, at 177 cm, 180 cm, 183 cm and 161 cm respectively, making the height differences striking. Seong Dong-il asked Gong Myoung, "How is the new youngest? How is Jang Nara?" Gong Myoung said, "She is really very small and cute," and seemed at a loss. Jang Nara gave her impression of Gong Myoung, saying, "When I take 20 steps, Gong Myoung will finish in 12 steps. I look completely huge."
Gong Myoung, who returned after completing his military service, came to House On Wheels after an astonishing 3 years and 8 months. Gong Myoung said, "I have never felt this, but it felt like going to my parents' home after marriage? I thought I wanted to come soon," giving his impression. When asked if he had eaten breakfast, Gong Myoung said, "My younger sibling is performing in Japan. My sibling is in NCT and is a friend named Doyoung," revealing that his family was in Japan together.
Then Jang Nara said, "I know NCT," and Kim Hee-won asked, "Has younger sibling Doyoung gone to the military?" Gong Myoung replied, "Doyoung will go this year," adding, "My parents are now in Japan because of my sibling's performance."
Being in Hokkaido, sea urchin roe was a food they had to try. However, Seong Dong-il, seeing sea urchin roe priced at 100,000 won for two trays even at the source, boasted, "I will feed you until you're full." Following Seong Dong-il's advice, Jang Nara put two pieces of kelp into the rice before steaming, and when the rice was done she stepped back.
Seong Dong-il piled generous amounts of sea urchin roe on freshly made kelp rice, then topped it with finely chopped scallions and egg yolk. He poured sesame oil. Although the sauce he wanted was not available, the taste was sufficiently flavorful.
Seong Dong-il laughed, "Gong Myoung, you are eating House On Wheels rice for the first time in 3 years and 8 months." Gong Myoung ate three spoons in succession without pause. Jang Nara said, "It's really delicious," and added, "You could run a restaurant." Seong Dong-il replied, "That's why I failed. I was scammed." Early in his career, Seong Dong-il was scammed out of around 500 million won by a senior who said he would open a 170-pyeong rib restaurant. Watching this, Kim Hee-won said, "Talking about restaurants on House On Wheels should be taboo," and then took a big bite of the sea urchin rice bowl.
