Actor Rowoon is enlisting as an active-duty soldier today (27th).
Rowoon will enter the New Recruit training center today to receive basic military training and then fulfill his defense duties as an active-duty soldier in the army.
Ahead of his enlistment, Rowoon revealed a shaved head on social media and offered a short, plain greeting, "It feels refreshing. I'll be back." Earlier, his enlistment was postponed after he received a reexamination decision during the Military Manpower Administration's enlistment physical, but after a reexamination in August, his active-duty enlistment was ultimately confirmed.
He also shared his feelings ahead of military service directly. In a recent interview he said, "My enlistment was postponed once, so I already met all my friends and family and finished promotions. I want to work quickly when I return," and candidly added, "I'm already thinking about my discharge date." He went on, "Won't photos circulate when you're in the military? I didn't want to become known for a 'relaxed body,' so I lost weight," he joked.
He also expressed ambitions for challenges after discharge. He said, "I want to do romantic comedies and movies. I won't rest; I'll do everything. I also want to wear a school uniform again," and promised, "I'll return after military service looking more grown."
Meanwhile, Rowoon debuted in 2016 as a member of the group SF9 and has been active as an actor. Through dramas such as "Extraordinary You," "The King's Affection," "Destined with You," and Disney+ "The Murky Stream," he solidified his status as a leading actor. Rowoon is scheduled to be discharged in March 2027 after about a year and a half of military service.
