Singer Lady Jae-in revealed the secret to her postpartum diet.
On the 24th, a video titled "Extreme difficulty postpartum diet InBody reveal + Coupang diet item recommendations" was uploaded to Lady Jae-in's YouTube channel.
That day Lady Jae-in opened by saying, "Before I knew it, it has been 100 days since I gave birth and one month since I started dieting. Doesn't my face look a bit slimmer? I said I lost 11kg at the postpartum care center and gained 1kg after coming home. So I started at 57kg and it has been one month now. For a month I measured my InBody every day to show you all. I'll show that in a bit, and what I thought was very important in this diet was a healthy, sustainable diet. So I'll share my diet secrets with you."
She explained, "First, the most important thing is sound sleep. I started dieting when my baby began sleeping through the night. That's because while sleeping, growth hormone is released, which helps muscle recovery and breaks down fat. And because sleep balances appetite-regulating hormones, you lose weight while sleeping. But if the baby's care wakes you up, your rhythm is completely broken, so no matter how much you starve and exercise, you won't lose weight."
She continued, "Second is breakfast. Since I became pregnant, I have a fixed breakfast. It's a combination of kiwi, apple and peanut butter. And boiled eggs and soy milk. That's how I eat breakfast. What you eat for breakfast is very important. It can determine your body's metabolism for the day and plays a role in regulating appetite hormones. It's important to have a balanced breakfast. Eating like this also helps you go to the bathroom regularly."
She added, "Third is meal timing. For example, if you eat breakfast at 8 a.m., you eat lunch at noon. Then dinner is around 5 p.m., so it's important to have fasting intervals between meals. Have you heard that people gain weight not because they eat a lot at one time but because they eat too often? Some people nibble on leftovers bit by bit. Then there is no time for blood sugar to drop. Maintaining fasting periods is very important. So try not to snack often and stick to meal times. That is why regular meals are important."
Next, after introducing swelling tea and diet supplements, Lady Jae-in named diet as the fifth point. She said, "It's also the hardest part, but after I decided to diet I halved the amount I eat strictly. Even when I eat rice I start by putting half on my plate. Usually people think it's a waste of food and keep picking at the leftovers while sitting there, but you shouldn't feel it's a waste. Portion it and throw it away. Even if it's a shame, discard it and eat your meals like you're a little regretful. At first you'll be hungry and your stomach will feel empty, but after a few days the stomach adapts. Eating less is good for your health anyway. Reduce it with the mindset that you need to cut the amount you eat."
Lady Jae-in said, "At first reduce it to about two-thirds, then cut it in half. You can reduce it according to your style, but the important thing is to eat less than you used to. And cut it to a level you can maintain. Don't overdo it. It's important to make yourself enjoy the feeling of mild hunger and lightness in the body. Still, how can a person live without eating at all? Sometimes you crave snacks, right? Here are diet snacks that are good to eat when that happens," and she recommended diet-friendly snacks.
In particular, Lady Jae-in finally revealed her InBody records before and after her diet. She said, "When I looked at the exact one-month mark, I started at 56.8kg and now I'm down to 53.4kg. So I lost about 3.5kg. Losing 3.5kg in a month is a very ideal pace, I think. What I wanted to introduce is that this is not a course that ends in one or two months, but you have to change your mindset to live like this going forward. Change your lifestyle habits themselves and let's diet together slowly and healthily. Fighting!" she urged.
