CORTIS was honored as this year's best new act leading short-form trends in 2025.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) won the "global rookie" award at the TikTok Awards Korea 2025 held on the 25th at Hwajeong Gymnasium, Korea University, in Seongbuk District, Seoul.
The five members said, "We thank the fans who gave us so much love and help. It is meaningful to receive an award on TikTok, a place where people express themselves beyond the rules and standards of the world, just like our debut album title COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES. We are grateful and amazed that many people participated in the intro song 'GO!' challenge. We hope you will continue to play with us."
That day CORTIS performed 'GO!' and 'FaSHioN.' A huge cheer erupted as they appeared, and the members responded with vivid live vocals that filled the venue. Their unwavering singing ability and powerful synchronized dance were enough to captivate eyes and ears. In particular, not only the audience but also famous creators attending the awards followed the songs and dances, showing how popular they are. In the latter part of the performance, the five members moved through the seats to encourage responses, climbed onto tables to deliver intense rapping and otherwise showed stage manners that were hard to believe were from a first awards show.
CORTIS's award stems from their near-viral popularity on social media. On the global short-form video platform TikTok, they reached the highest follower count among rookies who debuted this year in just about a month after opening their account. As of 7 a.m. on the 26th, their followers surpassed 4.84 million. In addition to the debut album's title track "What You Want," tracks such as "GO!" and "FaSHioN" were loved as dance challenges and short-form background music.
Meanwhile, CORTIS have been invited to perform at NHK MUSIC SPECIAL "NHK MUSIC EXPO LIVE 2025" at Tokyo Dome on Nov. 3. They proved high local interest by being added to the lineup just three days after their debut.
