'Dokbakz' exploded their 'meok-tension' in Hong Kong, the "city of gastronomy."
The 21st episode of Channel S's NiDonNaeSan Dokbak Tour 4 (Channel S, SK Broadband co-production), broadcast on the 25th, showed Kim Dae-hee x Kim Jun-ho x Jang Dong-min x Yoo Se-yoon x Hong In-gyu forming the project group "Gae Ajeossi" and roaming Hong Kong, which is rising as a "city of gastronomy" and a "trekking attraction." As this was their third visit to Hong Kong, they planned an even more special itinerary, the "Hong Kong Island tour," and delivered big laughs and vicarious satisfaction by showing off the unbridled mukbang of "meoksigi" Kim Jun-ho.
That day, the Dokbakz began a meeting to choose their next travel destination. Yoo Se-yoon suggested, "We've been doing mainly downtown Hong Kong trips so far, but this time let's do an 'island tour,'" and Jang Dong-min responded, "Right. I heard Hong Kong has more than 200 mountains." Then Kim Jun-ho said, "This trip feels like a 'mountain club.' Should we go there and film a 'Gae Ajeossi' (comedian + ajeossi) music video?" Yoo Se-yoon hinted, "It's already been three years since 'Dokbak Song,' so I'm preparing a new 'Dokbak Song' in the trot genre," exciting the Dokbakz. With the Hong Kong trip decided, they gathered a few days later at Queen's Road Plaza, in the heart of Hong Kong Island and famous as the opening location of the legendary film A Better Tomorrow.
As promised, appearing in hiking outfits to match the "Gae Ajeossi" concept, they boasted the essentials they had each brought. Among them, Yoo Se-yoon said, "A cassette tape with 120 songs on it!" and suddenly played the tape, unexpectedly starting a 'Gae Ajeossi dance party.' In a cheerful atmosphere, they moved to Central Market and set out to find popular restaurants as they went. They entered a restaurant with a strong local feel and ordered the signature wonton, chicken curry, and dumplings. Saying, "The food totally has a Hong Kong vibe," the Dokbakz cleared their plates and then took a taxi to a bus stop near the harbor, six minutes away. There Kim Dae-hee said, "Isn't this where we first played the 'Dokpart' game?" with delight. Jang Dong-min shouted, "To mark our return, let's play the 'Dokpart' game. This time no holding back, make it real!" Shortly after, they played the 'Dokpart' game for travel money, and by chance Jang Dong-min drew the lone loser, making everyone burst into laughter.
Riding Hong Kong's iconic open-top double-decker bus, the Dokbakz enjoyed views of the city with refreshing breezes. During the ride, Kim Jun-ho said, "I met senior actor Kim Sang-joong at immigration earlier at the airport." Kim Dae-hee, who is known to be friendly with Kim Sang-joong, called him immediately, and Kim Sang-joong said, "My family came on a trip to Shanghai." Kim Dae-hee then tossed out an 'old man joke,' saying, "Brother, be careful of spoiled food in Shanghai," and Kim Sang-joong's quick phone hang-up for comic effect turned the scene upside down.
Shortly after, they arrived at Repulse Bay, a wealthy neighborhood in Hong Kong. Hong In-gyu marveled, "Maybe because it's a rich area, the beach is beautiful." Before the full tour, they played a game to pick the person who would cover snacks alone, and once again Jang Dong-min lost, becoming the lone snack payer for the second consecutive time. After resting with ice cream, the Dokbakz went to Tin Hau Temple in Repulse Bay, an unusual attraction and a "wish restaurant." At the temple entrance, Jang Dong-min explained about the 'Cheonsemun,' saying, "If you pass through here, you'll live to be 1,000 years old~," and at the temple filled with various deities the Dokbakz each made wishes. At that time, newlywed Kim Jun-ho went to the pot-bellied statue, a symbol of fertility, and prayed, "Please bless us with two children," while the other Dokbak fathers made a wish before the Guanyin statue, "Please make our children listen well," creating a 'polar opposite' atmosphere.
After making wishes, they headed to a dim sum spot recommended by Kim Jun-ho. There Kim Jun-ho ordered various dim sum and "cleaned the board." Seeing this, Hong In-gyu remarked, "Ever since he got (Kim) Ji-min, he's gone wild again," clicking his tongue at his eating 'meok-tension.' After the meal, they decided to play the 'wife text game,' where they would all send the same text message to their wives asking, "What do you think I was in my past life besides a human?" and the weakest animal would finish last. Kim Jun-ho, who received Kim Ji-min's reply first, tilted his head and said, "She said 'a dog (Shiba Inu)?'" Jang Dong-min puffed up, saying he received the reply, "Honey, I think you were a god! Zeus~" Yoo Se-yoon received "magpie," Kim Dae-hee received "tiger," while Hong In-gyu was devastated to get "sparrow." As the lone loser, Hong In-gyu appealed to his wife, "Honey! I'm a tiger too. I'll show you at home," adding a bittersweet laugh.
After dinner, the Dokbakz departed for the first night's lodging booked by Kim Jun-ho. While taking the tram, Kim Jun-ho said, "Tomorrow let's dress neat instead of hiking clothes." He then critiqued the Dokbakz's fashion, and Kim Dae-hee suddenly exclaimed, "The finishing touch of fashion is the face!" showing confidence. Hong In-gyu responded, "Then Jang Dong-min hyung is an early dropout," creating a chaotic chemistry. Finally arriving at the accommodation, the Dokbakz were satisfied with the cost-effective lodging at 270,000 won per night and played the 'clothespin game.' As a result, Yoo Se-yoon became the lone loser for the first time. Yoo Se-yoon had to share a bed with fourth-place Kim Dae-hee, while the other members secured one bed each and celebrated.
The Dokbakz's cheerful travelogue of the "Hong Kong Island tour" continues on Channel S's NiDonNaeSan Dokbak Tour 4 episode 23, to be broadcast on Nov. 1 (Sat) at 9 p.m.
