Comedian Im Lara wrote a long post updating fans about a crisis that struck while she was recovering after childbirth.
Recently, Im Lara and her husband Son Minsu welcomed twin babies "RakiDuki" a few days ago. Im Lara had planned to become pregnant early in their marriage but had difficulty conceiving naturally, so after becoming pregnant with twins through in vitro fertilization she suffered from morning sickness and eventually underwent a cesarean section.
Afterward, Son Minsu said he would immediately release Im Lara's birth preparations on YouTube the day after the children were born, but he said he had to postpone that because of Im Lara's sudden emergency situation. According to Son Minsu, the bleeding was so severe while Im Lara was in the bathroom that it looked as if she had left the water running. Because she could not lose consciousness, Im Lara gritted her teeth and endured it.
And this afternoon, the 26th, Im Lara posted on her social account, "I almost wasn't able to hold my babies' hands even once, but thanks to the concerns and support of many people I was able to hold them. I'm truly sorry for causing worry and also grateful," sharing an additional update.
Im Lara continued, "On the ninth day after childbirth I suddenly experienced a large amount of postpartum bleeding, but a nearby large hospital's emergency room could not accept a mother, which made the situation more critical. Fortunately, I received a call that the delivery hospital would accept me, and thanks to the rescuers I was able to have surgery in time. I was so anxious before being separated from my husband that I asked Minsu to ask people around us to pray, and because of that I am recovering quickly now. From now on I will always pray for your health and peace," she said, offering words of thanks.
Finally, Im Lara concluded her post, "I sincerely once again express my deep gratitude to the rescuers who worked hard for me, the emergency room and intensive care unit at Ewha Mokdong Hospital, and obstetrics doctors including Professor Jeon Jong-kwan," and ended the message.
The "postpartum hemorrhage" Im Lara experienced is known, by the standards of medical journal reports, to occur in about 1 in 6 women worldwide. In what could have been a dangerous moment, she fortunately recovered her health, and fans also reacted with relief.
