Hollywood actor Jennifer Lawrence admitted she directly asked about Donald Trump's past slurs surrounding the 'Twilight' couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
Lawrence appeared on the BBC's The Graham Norton Show on the 23rd (local time) to promote her new film Die My Love and revealed she asked her co-star Pattinson about his past relationship.
She laughed and recalled, I couldn't not ask about the tweets Donald Trump posted about Kristen and the scandal, saying it must have been a few days after the photos were released. Trump poured out messages of enormous anger, saying things like, Robert should dump her, he can meet someone better.
In 2012, a 'cheating scandal' broke when photos surfaced of Stewart with director Rupert Sanders from the film Snow White and the Huntsman. At the time, Trump, who was a businessman and active in politics, publicly mocked her on social media, saying, Robert Pattinson should not take Kristen Stewart back. She deceived him like a dog and will do it again.
Trump received criticism from fans for posting similar messages several times, including posts saying, "Dump her." Stewart told Variety in 2017, Trump was angry with me a few years ago. He was totally obsessed.
On the broadcast, Lawrence added, That is a really old story, but young people all make mistakes, and Robert seemed relaxed enough to laugh it off.
In fact, Stewart said in an official apology at the time, I hurt someone I love because of a momentary mistake. I'm truly sorry, and the two briefly reconciled before breaking up completely in 2013.
Pattinson is currently engaged to actor and model Suki Waterhouse, and the couple welcomed a daughter in March 2024. Stewart began a new chapter in her life by marrying screenwriter Dylan Meyer in April.
Meanwhile, the film in which Lawrence and Pattinson both appear, Die My Love, is a thriller comedy that premiered on the red carpet at the Rome International Film Festival to positive reviews.<
