The fates of Lee Young-ae, Kim Young-kwang and Park Yong-woo, driven to an irreparable tragedy, reach a conclusion tonight.
Tonight (26th) at 9:20 p.m., the final episode of the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice (director Song Hyun-wook / writer Jeon Young-shin / produced by Baram Pictures·Slingshot Studio) will show Jang Tae-gu (Park Yong-woo) reduced to a fugitive as he is pursued by police and the media.
Earlier, Tae-gu, who committed reckless crimes out of an obsession with his son and greed for money, shot a fellow detective while being transferred and even escaped; in the end he pointed a gun at Kang Eun-su (Lee Young-ae) and Park Do-jin (Bae Soo-bin), bringing about a horrific tragedy. When James' identity was revealed to be Lee Kyung (Kim Young-kwang) as part of Tae-gu's scheme, Tuen Group heir Kang Hwi-rim (Do Sang-woo) reported it to the police. Facing revenge, Lee Kyung was arrested at the scene and fell into a life-or-death crisis. The destinies of the three characters will be revealed in tonight's final episode.
Still images released ahead of the final broadcast show Eun-su, Lee Kyung and Tae-gu engaged in a last confrontation. Tae-gu, who opened fire on Eun-su and Do-jin and fled, is in an uncontrollable state. Eun-su uses Tae-gu's weakness—his distorted love for his son and endless desire—to propose a dangerous transaction.
But Tae-gu, who has lost his reason, runs wild regardless of danger and takes Eun-su hostage. At the moment when despair, anger and fear intersect, viewers' tension peaked over what fate the three will meet.
In another still, Eun-su is holding a weapon amid tears and despair, staring at someone. Lee Kyung's desperate expression as he grabs Eun-su foreshadows an unbelievable development. A desire to protect family, a drive to complete revenge, and an obsession swept up in the whirlpool of madness erupt, creating suffocating tension.
The production team said, "In the final episode, the sins and choices of every character are concluded. The key point is how those who fought in their own ways for family, for love or for desire ultimately end up." They added, "There will be 95 minutes of relentless suspense, emotional explosions and a weighty aftertaste."
