Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves (61) was embarrassed by a fan's stalking incident.
According to the Daily Mail, Reeves recently faced trouble after a female fan chased him following a performance of the Broadway play Waiting for Godot in New York. The woman claimed to be "Keanu's divine wife" and was stopped by security when she tried to open the actor's car door.
A witness video showed the woman shouting "Keanu, I am your divine wife!" as she chased the car. When security subdued her and she fell, another fan at the scene cried out in shock that "this person needs a restraining order."
After the shocking incident, Reeves was spotted on the streets of New York on the 24th local time. He wore a brown jacket over a blue hoodie and a red scarf as a casual accent, appearing to continue his peaceful daily life.
The actor looked somewhat gaunt while running a few errands, but eased fans' worries with a relaxed smile. Local media reported that "Reeves appeared composed, as if unconcerned about the unpleasant incident."
Reeves is currently playing AESTURA in Waiting for Godot at the Hudson Theatre in New York, directed by Jamie Lloyd, marking his challenge on the stage. Some critics panned his performance as "perfect on screen but somewhat stiff on stage," while The Guardian praised it, saying his chemistry with longtime colleague Alex Winter stood out.
Recently Reeves attended the premiere of the film Good Fortune with his partner Alexandra Grant, sharing affectionate kisses that quashed rumors. When marriage rumors surfaced, Grant wrote on social media that "the photo is real but the marriage is fake news," adding, "Good news is hard to come by these days, but this isn't it. I just wanted to share a happy moment."
