Actor Kim Mi-kyung received the presidential citation at the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
Kim Mi-kyung attended the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards ceremony held on the 23rd at the Haeoreum Theater of the National Theater in Jung-gu, Seoul, where she was recognized for her contributions to the development of Korean popular culture over decades by moving between drama, film and the stage.

Kim Mi-kyung, who received the presidential citation that day, said, I never dreamed I would receive such a major award; I am grateful and honored, adding, I have acted for nearly 40 years, and during that time I feel like I raised about 100 sons and daughters in my works. This award feels like a gift for all those years.
She added, I believe that being an actor is the best profession that lets me see the world a little more broadly and understand people's hearts, and I will continue to act with pride as an actor of Korea and with a grateful heart.
