In the '8 p.m. news,' Lee Jung-hyun shared the behind-the-scenes story of how, due to insufficient production funds, she had no choice but to take on both the lead role and the directing duties.

Lee Jung-hyun said, "I love movies so much; I wanted to make this dream come true in my twenties." She said the short film she made after entering graduate school finally got released and added, "It's very difficult for a short film to be released, and I was so happy I couldn't sleep."
The filming process was by no means easy. She said, "Because it was a student film, the budget had to be handled between 5 million won and 10 million won. I also lacked production funds," and recalled, "There was no money for casting actors, so I took the lead role. I was the lead actor and also handled production, costumes and directing. I acted, called cut, and had a lot of burdens."
Those efforts paid off. Mentioning that the film she directed as her first work was nominated for a Blue Dragon Film Award, she said, "I was nominated for the Blue Dragon Film Festival short film award and couldn't sleep. I was really surprised when I got the call. I want to win, but even if it doesn't go as hoped, I will work harder going forward," expressing her aspirations.
Lee Jung-hyun announced that the film actually became a nominee at the Jeonju International Film Festival and even the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Earlier, she asked viewers, "It's an independent film, so it will be hard to find. It's only showing at CGV Art House. Please look for it," urging people to watch it.
She has been active in various fields as an actor, singer and in cooking. "There are times when my cooking doesn't taste good. My husband is my test subject. I fail a lot," she said, adding calmly, "I don't think I'm a perfectionist. I just do my best because I'm lacking."
Meanwhile, Lee Jung-hyun married a doctor three years her junior in 2019 and has two daughters.
