Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant contestant Lee Chan-won rose to prominence as a person who brought honor to his alma mater.
On the 24th broadcast of KBS 2TV entertainment show "Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant" (hereinafter "Fun-Staurant"), Lee Chan-won was shown visiting his alma mater.
Earlier, Lee Chan-won had promised his homeroom teacher in his third year of high school that he would come to the school as a guest chef on Fun-Staurant. To keep that promise, he visited his alma mater, Gyeongwon High School.
Lee Chan-won, who said he was coming for the first time in 10 years since graduation, recalled, "This is the main building now and it's the same," adding, "When we attended school, it ranked in the top three in Daegu. There were 1,700 students in the whole school."
As soon as he entered the school, a list titled "Those who bring honor to Gyeongwon" caught his eye in a corner of the lobby. While checking the seniors on the list, Lee Chan-won found his own name and said, "Wow, amazing."
At the very bottom of the list was written "Lee Chan-won—singer, 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards winner (class of '37)." Seeing this, Lee Chan-won could not hide his surprise, saying, "They really updated it quickly. Really fast."
Meanwhile, Lee Chan-won, who is adept at both singing and hosting, drew attention by winning the "2024 KBS Entertainment Awards" last December. Winning the grand prize just four years after his debut proved his abilities as an MC.
