Getaway and Go with Jangdobari, Netflix's daily variety show, heads to Paris, the city of romance and art.
Today (25th, Sat) at 5 p.m., season 2 episode 6 of Netflix's Getaway and Go with Jangdobari (directed by Ryu Soo-bin, produced by TEO) will be released, featuring a France muse tour with guest director Lee Ok-seop and Jang Doyoun. From an opening that begins against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the journey toward Giverny and a visit to Monet's house, a string of unmissable moments is expected to follow.
Director Lee Ok-seop, also well known for the film Megi, is a close friend who travels with Jang Doyoun; he even served as special MC for the 100th episode of Salon Drip, showcasing their deep friendship. Jang Doyoun also appeared in the film Your Country, co-directed by Lee and Koo Kyo-hwan, showing an artistic partnership that goes beyond mere friendship and inspires one another. The two, a close-friend pairing recommended by the show's first guest Byun Yo-han, are expected to display a pleasant chemistry on this France trip as well.
This trip is themed "eat, drink and be friends." Jang Doyoun, visiting France and Paris for the first time, could not hide her excitement as she saw the Eiffel Tower in person after only ever seeing it from her living room's front row on TV. She visits Monet's house, listed on her bucket list, and together with director Lee Ok-seop, who loves novelist Balzac, they fulfill items on their respective wish lists and continue a special journey.
The two head to Giverny, a fairytale village on the outskirts of Paris loved by artists. At a fairytale-like lodging, they wear matching twin looks they prepared themselves, enjoy croissants and savor the local vibe. Even amid an incident where a bee flies toward Jang Doyoun, director Lee Ok-seop jokingly says, "It's okay, I have a lot of hair," and Jang Doyoun turns it into a positive skit, creating moments from her professional expertise; their genuine friend chemistry promises big laughs.
A visit to Monet's house is an indispensable highlight. The two visit the home of Impressionist master Claude Monet in Giverny and directly feel the breath of his work and life. In particular, curiosity arises about what conversation the two had when they faced the scenes from the paintings in the garden that served as the setting for the Water Lilies series. Anticipation is rising for the two's France travelogue, which will fully showcase the theme "eat, drink and be friends."
