Singer Ha Dong-kyun surprised everyone on Hangout With Yoo with a romance confession that left people unsure whether he was serious or joking.
The Oct. 25 episode of MBC variety show Hangout With Yoo was presented as a "Comma, Club autumn gathering" special. That day Yoo Jae-seok, HaHa, Ju Woo-jae, Lee Yi-kyung, Ha Dong-kyun and Heo Kyung-hwan gathered to enjoy an autumn picnic.
Ha Dong-kyun introduced himself as "mountain grandpa" and casually displayed a cheerful wit. When asked, "Aren't you thinking of getting married?" he drew attention by replying firmly, "I'm a bachelorist."
But he reacted immediately to the follow-up question, "Are you a lifelong single?" Ha Dong-kyun unexpectedly made a "romance confession," saying, "That's not the case. I'm seeing someone even now. I'm still dating." When the members were surprised to hear this, he joked, "It's been a day since we started dating," drawing laughter.
Yoo Jae-seok responded, "So you have a free dating style," and HaHa lightened the mood by impulsively asking mischievous questions like, "Are you good at kissing?" In response to Ha Dong-kyun's joke, Yoo Jae-seok, who was beside him, brazenly said, "I'm unmarried. I prefer to enjoy life rather than marriage," prompting the members to chuckle.
Ha Dong-kyun's bachelorist remark is close to the truth. In 2019 he appeared on a radio channel and emphasized, "Honestly, I have no intention of getting married. I'm cynical about marriage. I myself have no desire to get married. It would be nice if there were fantasies about marriage, but there aren't. Is marriage something you gather so many people for?"
However, whether his answer that he is currently dating is true is uncertain. Fans' curiosity is growing over whether Ha Dong-kyun's surprising remark came from the "mountain grandpa" character or reflects Ha Dong-kyun's real situation.<
