Lee Young-ae makes a final decision to protect her husband Bae Soo-bin and daughter Kim Si-a.
Today (25th) at 9:20 p.m., the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice (directed by Song Hyun-wook, written by Jeon Young-shin) episode 11 depicts the tearful farewell of Kang Eun-soo (played by Lee Young-ae) and Park Do-jin (played by Bae Soo-bin), who have given up everything to protect their family.
Earlier, Eun-soo feared her daughter Park Su-a (played by Kim Si-a) would learn of the crime she committed and prepared for the daughter to study abroad. But the situation became irreversible when Su-a was caught by police while working as a courier for drugs with a friend. Having been compromised again by Jang Tae-gu (played by Park Yong-woo), Eun-soo struggled with the determination that at least her daughter must not fall into the cycle of crime.
A still released ahead of the broadcast captured Eun-soo's desperate plea asking Do-jin and Su-a to leave Korea to protect the family in crisis. Do-jin, whose condition has worsened, says Eun-soo cannot be bought with the money she earned by selling herself and urges them to give up everything and turn themselves in.
Do-jin blames himself for leading Eun-soo into a life of crime and cries tears of regret, and Eun-soo, for the first time, pours out her long-held feelings and sobs. The two comfort each other and set out together on the final path to pay for their sins.
Can Eun-soo ultimately protect the family unit that collapsed from a momentary wrong choice? Attention is focused on what outcome her decision to turn herself in will meet.
