The group LE SSERAFIM debuted a fan song performance on America's Got Talent for the first time.
On the 25th at 11 a.m. (Korea time), America's Got Talent (America's Got Talent), NBC's flagship variety show, uploaded to its official YouTube channel a live video of LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae)'s track from their first single album, Pearlies (My oyster is the world). This video was filmed in the program's music room when LE SSERAFIM appeared on America's Got Talent's broadcast last September.
Appearing in a bright atmosphere, LE SSERAFIM conveyed messages such as "your gaze, your voice, and warmth / I was happy, this is my sincerity" with delicate vocals, giving fans deep emotion. The members' clear voices and sincere lyrics combined to leave a profound resonance.
Pearlies (My oyster is the world) originated from comments Heo Yunjin gave at the Incheon concert of the world tour held last April. At the time she said, "Like a shell goes through painful times and then a pearl comes out, I waited with the belief that soon my own pearl would be made," and "I thought I should protect FEARNOT (fandom name) who stayed with me during that period." That sincerity became the starting point of the song, and Heo Yunjin participated directly in the work to share honest emotions.
The song title also originated from her idea. They wanted to reveal LE SSERAFIM's more mature inner self by flipping the perspective of the debut album track The World Is My Oyster. As a result, the five members show with this song the value that what one possesses can become one's world, rather than a resolve to conquer the world.
Heo Yunjin said through Source Music that the song is especially meaningful because it was inspired by what she wanted to say to FEARNOT. She expressed gratitude that she can speak sincerely through music and felt blessed that there are FEARNOT who understand her sincerity. She added an affectionate message, saying she hopes FEARNOT know they are "beings who made me realize that what I have is my world rather than someone to conquer the world."
LE SSERAFIM will perform the title track SPAGHETTI (feat. j-hope of BTS) on MBC's Show! Music Core, broadcast today (the 25th) at 3:20 p.m. The song compares LE SSERAFIM, who keeps lingering and popping into one's mind, to spaghetti stuck on it. With an addictive melody it delivers a listening pleasure and with witty performances it provides a visual pleasure.
