Actor Shin Hyun-joon commemorated the first anniversary of the late Kim Su-mi.
On the 25th, Shin Hyun-joon posted on his personal social media a memorial photo of the late Kim Su-mi along with the words "I love you, mother.. I miss you so much."
Earlier, the late woman was transferred to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital on the morning of Oct. 25 last year in a state of cardiac arrest, but ultimately passed away. The cause of death was reported as cardiac arrest due to hyperglycemic shock.
Kim Su-mi debuted in 1970 as an MBC open-recruit talent and, despite her young age, gained popularity as the "nation's mother" by playing the role of Il-yong's mother in the drama "Jeonwon Ilgi." She was later loved in various works and variety shows for her distinctive wit, cheeky acting and remarkable cooking skills.
The connection between Kim Su-mi and Shin Hyun-joon is also special. The two worked together in the films "Barefoot Ki-bong" and the "Glory of the Family" series, and also appeared together in Kim Su-mi's final film, "Thunderstruck Cop."
At the premiere of "Thunderstruck Cop," which was released after the late woman's passing, Shin Hyun-joon shed tears and said, "This was the last gift mother left us," adding, "Thanks to mother, I felt a lot of warmth while making the film."
