Former ADOR chief executive Min Hee-jin has launched a new entertainment agency.
According to the industry on the 24th, the former chief recently established a new entertainment agency, "OK Co.," and completed corporate registration on the 16th.
According to the certified copy of the corporate registry, the purposes of the business include 24 items such as ▲ agency services for entertainer management ▲ music production, album production, music and album distribution ▲ performance and event planning and production ▲ brand management agency services ▲ advertising agency services ▲ manufacturing of publications on electronic and recording media.
Min Hee-jin was listed as an inside director. The corporate office is understood to be located near Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The company's capital is 30 million won.
This is the first time the former chief's moves have been officially revealed since leaving ADOR.
The group "NewJeans," produced by the former chief, has also halted activities. NewJeans said in Nov. last year that it would leave the company because the issues it had asked ADOR to correct had not been fixed. The group then changed its name to "NJZ" and attempted to pursue independent activities, but ultimately failed.
With the court granting an injunction for "preservation of agency status and prohibition on concluding advertising contracts," all commercial activities, including music activities, broadcast appearances, and advertisements, are banned without ADOR's consent. If they violate this and pursue independent activities, they must pay 1 billion won per person per instance.
However, on the 30th, the first-instance ruling is due in ADOR's lawsuit seeking confirmation of the validity of exclusive contracts against the NewJeans members. Depending on the result, there is a possibility the members will leave ADOR and head to "OK," the former chief's new post.
