Singer Seo In-young directly spoke about the rumored feud with Ga-in that erupted nine years ago.
Seo In-young held a Live Up to Your Name broadcast on the 23rd and was asked how her relationship with Ga-in was. She said, "I'm close with Ga-in," and added, "I think I acted too hastily then and not like a senior, and there were parts where I was hurt."
She continued, "We worked things out and I'm close with Ga-in. Let's not make any more issues," and said, "Nothing happened. I'll reveal everything on YouTube. Let's keep it light here."
Earlier in 2015, Seo In-young and Ga-in appeared together on MBC's 'Golden Fishery-Radio Star,' and there was an invisible tension between the two. At the time, Ga-in recounted an anecdote in which Seo In-young used informal speech toward Narsha, who had hidden her age early in her debut. She said Seo In-young's tone did not change even after learning that Narsha was older. After the broadcast, some internet users criticized Seo In-young's attitude, saying her expression did not look good when Ga-in made those remarks. There were also voices saying that, no matter how senior, it was a problem to use informal speech toward an older junior.
When controversy arose, Seo In-young said on social media that there was no problem on set and that they normally get along, while explaining that she values senior-junior etiquette. She also explained the problematic expression by saying, "Ga-in was very different when she entered before the recording and after she entered, which surprised me."
After posting her first clarification, Seo In-young expressed discomfort at criticisms that she, as a senior, appeared to be 'bossing' a junior. She criticized Ga-in's attitude, saying, "When waiting, these days juniors talk about unnie doing this and that — now they're completely in a senior mindset. If another junior had done this, would you have put up with it?"
Many internet users debated whether it was a senior's 'abuse of power' toward a junior or a junior's 'lack of courtesy.'
