The group ZEROBASEONE targets Japan with iconic charm.
ZEROBASEONE (Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Jang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, Ricky, Kim Gyubin, Park Geonwook, Han Yujin) released the Japanese special EP "ICONIK" and the title track of the same name "ICONIK (Japanese ver.)" on various music sites today (24th) at 12 a.m.
"ICONIK (Japanese ver.)" is a song that represents ZEROBASEONE's journey as artists. It captures the nine members' bold ambition to shine even brighter with the powerful message that, regardless of others' evaluations, we can be iconic ourselves. It reflects confidence that ZEROBASEONE wants to stand not simply as icons representing the fifth generation, but as an iconic brand in itself.
The special performance music video released with the song shows ZEROBASEONE performing intense yet powerful synchronized choreography across various spaces inside a building. In particular, it heightens the sense of excitement and increases immersion in the performance by utilizing the structural feel of the building's different spaces.
The album includes three songs all sung in Japanese by ZEROBASEONE: the title track "ICONIK," "SLAM DUNK," and "BLUE," the title track from their previous mini album 5, "BLUE PARADISE (BLUE PARADISE)."
As ZEROBASEONE has shown overwhelming presence in Japan, strong interest continues for this comeback. ZEROBASEONE achieved a half-million seller with their first Japanese single "Yura Yura -Unmei no Hana- (ゆらゆら -運命の花-)" last March, reaching the highest figure among debut albums by foreign artists in Japan within a week of their local debut. Also, their first EP "PREZENT" released in January topped both the Oricon weekly album ranking and the weekly combined album ranking, and it ranked fourth in Billboard Japan's 2025 first-half settlement of account "Top album sales," leading a near-syndrome level popularity in Japan. Amid fans' enthusiastic response, ZEROBASEONE was also selected as the winner in the Asia category for best new artist by the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards.
In addition, ZEROBASEONE's first full-length album released domestically, "NEVER SAY NEVER," showed strong popularity as it placed second on the Oricon weekly album ranking and the weekly combined album ranking respectively even before the physical album was released locally, demonstrating their status as a "global top tier," and attention is focused on the results they will achieve with the Japanese special EP "ICONIK."
The physical album of ZEROBASEONE's Japanese special EP "ICONIK" will be released on the 29th at 12 a.m., and ahead of that, the title track "ICONIK (Japanese ver.)" and the special performance music video were pre-released simultaneously today (24th) at 12 a.m.
