On the afternoon of the 23rd, KBS 2TV variety show Problem Child in House featured Na Min-ae, a writing professor beloved by Seoul National University students and the daughter of poet Na Tae-ju, as a guest on the show.
Broadcaster Song Eun-i said, "These days in Daechi-dong there's a saying that 'you shouldn't sell your house for Korean' because Korean is so difficult," and Kim Sook introduced Professor Na Min-ae as "a hot Korean education expert in that sense." Professor Na is currently in her 19th year teaching writing at Seoul National University and is a "teacher beloved by Seoul National University students."
Professor Na continued with a cheerful revelation when it was mentioned that her father, poet Na Tae-ju, had appeared on the program. She joked, "When three or more people gather, my father shifts into teacher mode, principal mode," and "he talks too much," turning the recording set into a sea of laughter.
Professor Na also revealed the surprising achievement of ranking No. 1 in Seoul National University lecture evaluations in 2019. She said she was moved to read a student evaluation that said, "The best thing about coming to Seoul National University was taking Professor Na Min-ae's class."
When the MCs asked if the No. 1 lecture evaluation title led to an increase in lecture fees, Professor Na answered honestly, "Not at all. It just feels good," drawing laughter. As the secret to her lecture's popularity, she answered without hesitation, "Students find it funny," suggesting that her own know-how of using humor increases students' engagement.
