SBS Friday variety show My Grumpy Secretary (hereafter "My Grumpy Secretary") features Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu serving as managers for actors Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin. They are set to present a cross-generational chemistry that overcomes a 20-year age gap.
My Grumpy Secretary is a road talk show in which actors Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu take on the role of "one-day managers" to closely care for a star's day, and after just three episodes it surpassed 10 million cumulative online short-form views, putting it at the center of heated attention. In particular, it entered Netflix's "Today's Korea top series" list in the top five for three consecutive weeks, creating a remarkable stir amid fierce competition in variety content.
Today's (the 24th) episode of My Grumpy Secretary features actors Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin as "my stars." The two will work together in the SBS new Wednesday-Thursday drama Dynamite Kiss, which premieres on Nov. 12. From their meeting on My Grumpy Secretary, which boasts a "genuine friend chemistry" of bickering and, based on the pre-released drama stills alone, a "real-life couple chemistry," unpredictable fun is expected to follow.
Before the full-scale caregiving begins, "my stars" Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin show themselves to be admirers of My Grumpy Secretary. Quickly and decisively, they give Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu affectionate nicknames and display a storm of friendliness; they reportedly ask for care whenever they can, saying "let's hang out together." Faced with an unexpected test of stamina, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu encounter unforeseen, high-difficulty caregiving that raises curiosity.
Also, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu even undertake a special cameo caregiving appearance to support their "my stars'" drama success. Lee Seo-jin, known for leading roles, and Kim Kwang-kyu, known for numerous works, are expected to show an acting transformation by taking on roles they have never played before, raising expectations.
