KBS N, together with the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office, Yeongdeok County Office, Pohang City Hall and Gyeongju City Hall, produced the audition program "Voice on the Street" to pray for the success of APEC and, on the occasion of the "2025 year to visit North Gyeongsang," to promote North Gyeongsang's beautiful tourist destinations to attract domestic and foreign tourists, and starting with the Yeongdeok episode on Oct. 15, it will air the Pohang (Oct. 22) episode and the Gyeongju (Oct. 29) episode weekly.
"Voice on the Street" is a new cultural entertainment program ambitiously planned by KBS N that, for the first time at the broadcaster, breaks the mold of indoor auditions and attempts a bold plan to proceed in a busking format.
Former Super Junior member Sungmin, 2AM's Changmin and Superstar K alumnus Kim Bo-kyung travel the country to find hidden talents, and the program, which first aired the Yeongdeok episode on Oct. 15, announced the start of a nationwide real busking audition, and by airing the Pohang episode on Oct. 22 it previewed the "APEC leaders' meeting commemorative Pohang fireworks show." The "APEC leaders' meeting commemorative Pohang fireworks show" will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Yeongildae Beach in Pohang.
The APEC special episode filmed in Gyeongju on Oct. 10 was watched by hundreds of Gyeongju citizens who gathered their hearts to pray for the success of APEC. The Gyeongju episode will be broadcast in two parts, part 1 (Oct. 29) and part 2 (Nov. 5).
Lee Cheol-woo, governor of North Gyeongsang Province, said, K-pop is a proud Korean culture loved around the world. He said he hoped that the holding of the 2025 APEC leaders' meeting in Gyeongju and the promotion of the year to visit North Gyeongsang would be a critical opportunity to let the world know about North Gyeongsang by bringing the province to life through the performance-style busking audition "Voice on the Street," and that by airing it down the east coast through Yeongdeok County, Pohang and Gyeongju with the wish for the successful hosting of the 2025 APEC, it would share that with viewers and let domestic and foreign audiences know the beauty of North Gyeongsang so that many tourists would visit North Gyeongsang.
"Voice on the Street" will be aired on KBS drama channel and life channel, and discussions are active about distributing it on domestic and international OTT platforms. In addition, on Oct. 26, it is preparing a challenge in Goyang, the first in the Seoul metropolitan area, drawing the interest and expectations of many K-pop fans.
