The group BOYNEXTDOOR is riding a wave of success on the music charts.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Seongho, Riu, Myeong Jaehyun, Taesan, Ihan, Unhak) released the mini 5th album "The Action" at 6 p.m. on the 20th, and its title track "Hollywood Action" ranked 21st on the Melon daily chart dated the 22nd. The song reached No. 2 on the Top 100 at 12 a.m. on the 21st and has maintained a steady presence in the upper ranks, continuing its hot popularity.
Not only the title track but all tracks included on the new release are being loved evenly. "Hollywood Action," "Live In Paris," "JAM!," "Bathroom," and "Itjjana" all entered the Melon daily chart, Spotify Korea Daily Top Songs, and Apple Music Korea Top 100 on the day of release (dated the 20th). The strength of BOYNEXTDOOR as a powerhouse on the charts is evident. The new album sold 636,002 copies on the day of release alone, easily surpassing half million sales and signaling the possibility of a third consecutive million-selling album.
High popularity was also observed in the global music market. The Action sold 266,415 copies in Japan on its first day and entered Oricon's daily album ranking dated the 21st at No. 2. "Hollywood Action" ranked seventh on the new song chart announced by China's largest music streaming platform QQ Music on the 23rd. On the trend index chart, which calculates rankings based on streaming, downloads and preference, it ranked 13th. The song rose 69 and 63 places respectively the previous day, showing strong local interest.
BOYNEXTDOOR is expected to cement its upward momentum with music show appearances. They begin full-scale broadcast activities starting today (the 23rd) with Mnet's M Countdown. In addition to the title track "Hollywood Action," they are expected to present stages for album tracks to show diverse emotions.
