"Hip-pop Princess" will reveal who will score the first victory.
The second episode of Unpretty Rapstar: Hip-pop Princess (hereafter "Hip-pop Princess"), airing today (the 23rd) at 9:50 p.m. KST, continues with the first track competition, the "Hip-pop Challenge" mission stage. As the intense Korea-Japan rivalry unfolds and the full-scale competition among 40 contestants begins, the results of the "Hip-pop Challenge" mission are also expected to be unveiled, adding to the tension.
In the first episode aired earlier, the stages of Team A from both Korea and Japan, featuring some of the strongest performers in the show's history, were unveiled and delivered an unmissable level of immersion. The stages, which newly reinterpreted ITZY's WANNABE with each team's own producing, drew viewers' attention with completely different colors and levels of completion. Right after the broadcast, glowing reviews poured in for the talented contestants, such as "I can't believe they interpreted this song like this" and "They could debut like this."
An uprising by lower-ranked contestants also raises expectations. The recently released preview video focuses attention on the Korean team among the Korea-Japan Team D preparing a stage for i-dle's Queencard. Korea D team consisted of contestants who ranked at the bottom in the group's cypher pre-evaluation, so it will be watched whether the lower-ranked contestants can pull off an upset.
The released preview for episode 2 captured Korea D team facing difficulties from the start of the mission as they clashed over opinions. But they gradually came to their senses and devoted themselves to practice, creating a turnaround that piqued curiosity. In the midterm evaluation, fiery reactions from fellow contestants continued, including "an uprising by the lower ranks," "they seem like angry tadpoles," and "I don't know why they're in group D." In the fierce Korea-Japan showdown with no concessions, expectations rise about what kind of teamwork Korea D team will show on the main stage and how the original artist Soyeon will evaluate them.
Meanwhile, Hip-pop Princess is conducting first-round global online voting until noon KST on Oct. 24 (Fri). Voting is available via Mnet Plus in Korea and global regions, and via U-NEXT in Japan.
With a growing heat of stages filled with different charms and raw energy, the second episode of Hip-pop Princess will air on Mnet at 9:50 p.m. KST on the 23rd (Thu), and will be available in Japan through U-NEXT.
