You Quiz on the Block anchor Kim Jae-won showed interest in acting after leaving KBS.
On the 22nd broadcast of the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block (hereafter You Quiz), former KBS anchor Kim Jae-won appeared and shared his feelings about leaving and his recent status.
Kim Jae-won ended 12 years as the longest-serving male MC of Morning Yard and took early retirement at the end of July. After 30 years and six months at KBS, he said, "If I get a call from somewhere that needs me, I will go no matter what."
However, although various offers have come in since he became a freelancer, he said he has received no offers from the broadcasting side. Yoo Jae-suk asked, "What kind of program would you want?"
Kim Jae-won said, "I want a knowledge channel. I want world history, Korean history, and travel programs. I have traveled to about 60 countries, so I can go anywhere. In fact, I can do anything," showing his determination.
He added, "After I left, I found I couldn't watch broadcasts comfortably. Because when I watched, I thought, 'Oh, I could do that too.' For a while I couldn't watch knowledge channels. The same went for variety shows."
Kim Jae-won, who ended up watching only dramas, said, "I tried to watch dramas comfortably, but I thought, 'I could do that supporting role too.'" He revealed his desire to act, saying, "I could play an anchor role or a host role. I could appear as a cameo."
In particular, he appealed, "Because I worked for 30 years and six months, I could play the role of a middle-aged office worker. And with realistic sensibility, I could empathize with the role of a retiree."
