The film Shin-ui Akdan, scheduled to be released this December (director Kim Hyeong-hyeop | distributor: CJ CGV Co., Ltd. | production: Studio Target Co., Ltd.), has released for the first time three publicity stills showing Jung Jin-woon, a former member of the group 2AM who has been building a solid career as an actor, in a transformation 180 degrees different from his usual image.
Shin-ui Akdan is a work that depicts events that unfold after a fake praise troupe is established in North Korea to earn foreign currency.
The stills released this time capture Jung Jin-woon, who plays the principled North Korean officer Kim daewi, who clashes sharply with Park Gyosu (Park Si-hoo), and overwhelm the viewer. Jung Jin-woon, who debuted as a member of the group 2AM and won public affection with his cheerful and approachable charm, has steadily built his filmography as an actor across screen and television since the 2012 drama Dream High 2, through Love, Not Marriage, the films Can You See Only Me, Oh! My Ghost, and his recent work Rebound.
In Shin-ui Akdan, Jung Jin-woon is set to take on the role of Kim daewi, a cold and intense charismatic figure who completely erases his previous image and will be responsible for the film's tension. The stills of him staring at his opponent with sharp eyes and standing in a crisply worn uniform reveal his meticulous and persistent personality that misses nothing. In particular, the still showing him wearing his military cap pulled low with a cold expression suggests he will be the greatest threat to Park Gyosu's (Park Si-hoo) mission leading the "fake praise troupe," raising the film's tension to a peak.
Jung Jin-woon, who plays Kim daewi, who will monitor and suspect every move of Park Gyosu and form a tense conflict structure, is expected to become another key viewing point of Shin-ui Akdan with his dimensional acting.
The film Shin-ui Akdan, which heralds actor Jung Jin-woon's daring acting transformation, will meet audiences nationwide this December.<
