"You Quiz on the Block" composer Lee Jae of "K-POP Demon Hunters" mentioned royalties for "Golden," drawing attention.
On the 22nd, Lee Jae, the subject of the OST "Golden" from "K-POP Demon Hunters," appeared on the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block.
That day Lee Jae introduced himself, "I am composer Lee Jae, who took on the role of Rumi's vocal in 'K-POP Demon Hunters.'"
Yoo Jae-seok asked, "I've been sending love calls continuously and finally met you. How do you feel?" and Lee Jae answered, "So many things have been happening continuously. I don't think I had time to process them. Even now it still doesn't feel real. It feels like a dream."
At that time Cho Sae-ho asked, "Many people speculate that the accumulated royalties amount to as much as Squid Game's prize of 45.6 billion won," he said.
Lee Jae took part in many of the "K-POP Demon Hunters" OST works, including writing, composing and performing "Golden" and "How It's Done," arranging "Takedown," and writing the lyrics for "Your Idol."
Especially, "Golden" became a song loved worldwide, including recording eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
Surprised by the mention of royalties, Lee Jae said, "I didn't know," and in response to Yoo Jae-seok's comment, "Try checking your bank account once," he revealed, "But in the U.S. it comes in late. It takes a year."
