'What to do with leftovers with Youngja and Seri' actor Kim Seung-soo discussed his dating style and desired ideal type.
On the 22nd episode of tvN STORY 'What to do with leftovers with Youngja and Seri' (hereafter 'What to do with leftovers'), Kim Seung-soo was shown visiting popular restaurants in Seongsu-dong with Park Seri and Lee Young-ja. Kim Seung-soo said, "I don't have many reasons to come to Seongsu-dong. You only come if you have a girlfriend; I'm the kind of The Man from Nowhere who goes to a liquor shop," he said. Dressed in a navy suit, Kim Seung-soo exuded a dignified charm rather than 'ajumma-ness'.
From his entrance, Kim Seung-soo showed an uninhibited side, calling Park Seri "baby." He said, "I was born in 1971, so Park Seri is six years younger than me," and added, "Isn't she really the youngest? Baby, did you eat?" showing a genuinely affectionate warmth.
Park Seri replied candidly, "You come and see this and that," and said, "I don't understand why you have to go with a lover; I don't know why people have that fixed idea."
They arrived at Park Seri's recommended restaurant. Park Seri said, "In summer it's green tangerine soba. It's really delicious. It's a flavor you must try. The broth itself is so clean." The owner said, "We serve 200 servings a day. When we get buckwheat from large noodle makers it's too fine, so we make the particles ourselves. We make it a bit coarser so the dipping sauce can soak in," making mouths water. They ordered buckwheat soba, grilled herring, and Japanese-style tempura.
Kim Seung-soo, being sociable, said, "I nicknamed 'Jjokkomi,' so I want to give nicknames to Park Seri and Lee Young-ja too." He said, "Of Park Seri's dogs Mochi, Siru, and Chapssal, I like Mochi the most. That dog is a Boston terrier, right?" and added, "'Seriteri' seems to have the right rhyme," charming Park Seri.
Despite the warm atmosphere, neat and clean dishes began to arrive one after another. Lee Young-ja said, "This is the real deal. Why go to Japan? You can just come to Seongsu-dong and eat here," and noodle lover Kim Seung-soo was simply impressed. Park Seri worried aloud, half in jest and half serious, "I hope it doesn't get more famous after the broadcast."
When the story came up that Kim Seung-soo behaved affectionately even when he hugged Lee Young-ja four years ago, he said, "Four years ago during COVID-19, Lee Young-ja said she would do the chest-bump greeting and I said I wanted to try it too, so I hugged her. I hugged her because I was afraid she might fall."
Despite being sweet, Kim Seung-soo has been single for 15 years; at age 53 he has met only five people or fewer. Kim Seung-soo said, "I tend to date for a long time. Even if it's very short, it's over two years," and Park Seri agreed.
Lee Young-ja suddenly asked, "A pretty-faced woman, a woman with a good figure?" Kim Seung-soo said, "Figure! I like women who take care of themselves. I like women with toned muscles from exercise and self-care." Lee Young-ja asked again, "A woman who speaks indirectly, a woman who speaks directly?" and Kim Seung-soo said, "It would be a common male fantasy. I like it when someone tells you straight," adding, "However, I need to be with her the whole time on a date," surprising everyone.
