A person who had posted highly explicit messages claiming to be about actor Lee Yi-kyung's private life suddenly apologized, saying it was a prank using AI.
On the 22nd the person posted on their social media, "Recently I posted a lot of various photos related to actor Lee Yi-kyung. At first I started the posts as a joke and did not expect them to receive that much attention."
The person bowed their head and said, "As I kept writing posts and using AI photos, I gradually began to actually think that way about him," and added, "I am truly sorry for spreading what became a malicious rumor about actor Lee Yi-kyung."
They continued, "What started from fandom increasingly became emotional immersion. What began as fun gradually became reality, so I feel guilty. If there are parts I must take responsibility for, I will take responsibility," and added, "Please understand that my sentences are awkward because I am German."
Earlier, on the 19th the person posted an exposé on their blog titled "reveal the actor's alleged true colors of Lee Yi-kyung," then published several capture photos claimed to be messages and DMs exchanged with Lee Yi-kyung.
Regarding this, the agency said, "We are preparing legal action concerning damages caused by spreading false information and malicious rumors related to posts and distribution recently appearing mainly on online communities and social media."
The agency added, "Given the seriousness of this matter, we will calculate the scale of direct and indirect damages caused by spreading false information and take all measures."
