Actor Kim Young-kwang is delivering limitless action in Walking On Thin Ice.
In the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice, Kim Young-kwang is starring as Lee Kyung, a two-faced man who works as an after-school art instructor and a club MD. While intricately portraying the inner life of a man leading a double life, he captivated viewers with vivid depictions of chase scenes, device-based action and hand-to-hand combat.
#subway many-against-one clash
In episode 3, Kim Young-kwang made a strong impression with an intense chase scene set on a subway. In the drama, Lee Kyung fights a breathless many-against-one battle with members of the Phantom organization throughout the subway station to protect a bag of medicine. The fast-paced runs up and down stairs, escalators and the platform, and his sharp counterattacks against multiple enemies kept viewers on the edge of their seats. With agile movements that revealed both Lee Kyung's cold resolve and desperation, Kim Young-kwang dominated the screen and made it impossible to look away.
#survival instinct explodes amid attacker assault
In episode 6, a life-or-death moment unfolds in which Eun-soo (played by Lee Young-ae) and others are attacked by assailants. Lee Kyung, who regains consciousness, shows the will to fight the attacker barehanded and struggles fiercely, even freeing his own bindings. His desperate refusal to back down despite being threatened with a knife realistically revealed the character's survival instinct and inner tension in an extreme situation. Kim Young-kwang's physical commitment and the blend of intense emotion in his acting made the character even more distinct.
#direct confrontation with Park Yong-woo
In episode 10, broadcast on the 19th, Kim Young-kwang clashed head-on with Park Yong-woo (as Tae-gu), unleashing explosive energy. Unfazed by Tae-gu pointing a gun and threatening him, Lee Kyung first evacuated Eun-soo and then faced the attacker alone, engaging in a fierce brawl. Kim Young-kwang realistically built a relentless determination and desperate emotion to subdue his opponent without retreating. Beyond simple back-and-forth fighting, the dense action and powerful expression combined to give viewers an intense sense of immersion.
Through Walking On Thin Ice, Kim Young-kwang demonstrated a multilayered acting range that freely shifts between emotion and action.
