The second episode of the full-fledged real street food documentary Jun Hyun-moo plan 3 (MBN·Channel S·SK Broadband co-production), airing at 9:10 p.m. on Friday the 24th, shows Jun Hyun-moo and GwakTube (Gwak Jun-bin) visiting Iksan, a small city in North Jeolla Province, for the 63rd street episode to greet Iksan's Hwangdeung bibimbap, famous as one of the nation's three great bibimbap.
Upon arriving in Iksan that day, Jun Hyun-moo said, "In Hwangdeung-myeon, Iksan, there is Iksan's Hwangdeung bibimbap, counted among the country's three great bibimbap alongside Jeonju and Jinju. I've only heard about it and never tried it," expressing his anticipation. Immediately after, he said, "They say there are three genuine Hwangdeung bibimbap restaurants, so let's pick one by interviewing citizens," and set off.
Iksan citizens unanimously recommended a 50-year-tradition restaurant that has been passed down for three generations, and the two, surprised by the overwhelming recommendation, went to that restaurant. The restaurant owner, seeing them, warmly welcomed them, saying, "We watched Jun Hyun-moo plan and hoped our restaurant would be on it~," creating a heartwarming moment.
Thanks to the rising stature of Jun Hyun-moo plan, the two easily secured the booking and carefully tasted the clear seonji-guk. Moved by the deeply brewed broth, the "newlywed" GwakTube suddenly said, "I, once again, find love like this~," and showed a scallion shaped like a "heart" floating in the soup.
Jun Hyun-moo replied, "These days everything looks like love to you, right? I don't have a heart," sounding bitter and adding a poignant laugh. Then Iksan's Hwangdeung bibimbap, the final puzzle piece among Korea's three great bibimbap, was served. Surprised that the Hwangdeung bibimbap came already mixed, Jun Hyun-moo immediately took a bite and applauded. He praised it, saying, "It's the best among bibimbap," and GwakTube also gave a thumbs-up, saying, "It's a taste Koreans will love."
