Taxi Driver's signature hit K-caper series, SBS's new Fri-Sat drama Taxi Driver 3's "golden maknae" Pyo Ye-jin returns.
The new SBS Fri-Sat drama Taxi Driver 3, which premieres on Nov. 21 (Fri) (written by Oh Sang-ho / directed by Kang Bo-seung / produced by Studio S, Group Eight, BN Entertainment), is a series based on the webtoon of the same name, about the veiled taxi company Rainbow Transportation and taxi driver Kim Do-gi completing revenge on behalf of wronged victims.
The Taxi Driver series is a confirmed mega-hit IP that not only ranked fifth (21%) among all domestic terrestrial and cable dramas aired after 2023 in overall viewership, but also won the best drama series award at the 28th Asian Television Awards (ATA), Asia's most prestigious media awards, last year. Returning from the previous season, the Rainbow five — Lee Je-hoon (as Kim Do-gi), Kim Eui-sung (as President Jang), Pyo Ye-jin (as Go Eun), Jang Hyuk-jin (as Chief Choi), and Bae Yoo-ram (as Assistant Park) — have all confirmed a full comeback, raising fans' expectations.
In this regard, Taxi Driver 3 released the first stills of the upgraded, seasoned "Ahn Go-eun" played by Pyo Ye-jin, drawing attention. Pyo Ye-jin plays the "golden maknae" Ahn Go-eun, a hacker belonging to Rainbow Transportation who uses everything that operates digitally — CCTV, mobile phones, computers — to become Kim Do-gi's eyes and ears and support the private revenge-for-hire operations. Portraying Ahn Go-eun, Pyo Ye-jin not only shines as a genius hacker but also delivers an unpretentious secondary-character performance and displays subtle pink chemistry with Lee Je-hoon, earning praise as a "career-defining character."
Among the released stills, the current state of Go Eun, who still effectively holds the No. 1 spot in Rainbow Transportation's real hierarchy, is revealed, bringing delight. Her newly different blunt bob hairstyle highlights Go Eun's crisp personality, while the image of her crossing her arms in a meeting with the Rainbow Transportation team conveys charisma that controls the members. At the same time, scenes of Go Eun at work after launching the revenge-for-hire service were captured, increasing interest. In particular, the sight of Go Eun riding a motorcycle in a leather jacket explodes with girl-crush appeal. This raises anticipation for Go Eun's trajectory in season 3, which will showcase dynamic action and even more girl-crush charm.
