Actor Gong Yoo sent a public message of support for contestant No. 18 on Sing Again 4.
On the 21st, Gong Yoo posted a screenshot of part of the Sing Again 4 broadcast on his personal SNS, saying, "I was surprised three times while watching."
The released photo included the part where contestant No. 18 mentioned Gong Yoo. On the show, contestant No. 18 appeared in a wheelchair and said, "After passing the Sing Again preliminary audition and while preparing for the finals, I was hit by a 1-ton truck. When I came to, I was pinned under the truck, and the driver didn't even know he had hit me and drove a few meters, and my waist was broken in six places," they said.
Contestant No. 18 explained, "At first I felt hopeless, but my voice for singing and my hands and arms for playing guitar weren't injured, so I thought that meant I still had many songs I could perform, and I began rehabilitation training a week ago and came on Sing Again."
In particular, contestant No. 18 added, "I was hesitating because I didn't have the courage, but I once met Gong Yoo briefly after I sang the Trunk OST. I really like Gong Yoo, and he said he is a fan of Sing Again, so I thought that if I appeared on Sing Again I could make people remember who I am, and that's why I came on." Contestant No. 18 sang Kim Kwang-jin's "Sincerity" and received an all-again to pass.
After watching the broadcast, Gong Yoo said, "I was surprised three times while watching. Since I had met that person once, the story of the unfortunate accident and the performance of 'Sincerity' resonated with me… imprinting success! I support you!!"
Gong Yoo also posted the playback screen for "Savior," the Trunk OST, writing, "I really liked this song," thereby personally confirming it.
Meanwhile, Gong Yoo will appear in the Netflix series Slowly and intensely, which is scheduled to be released next year.
