"Would You Merry Me" is maintaining its No. 2 position worldwide on Disney+ and continuing its global popularity.
SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Would You Merry Me" (written by Lee Hana, directed by Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyeok, produced by Studio S, Samhwa Networks) is a sweet and brutal 90-day fake marriage story of two people competing to win a luxury newlywed home prize, and the solid acting of trusted actors Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min and their rom-com invincible chemistry are creating thrills.
As of Oct. 21, on FlixPatrol, a site that ranks content viewing on OTT platforms worldwide, it held the No. 2 worldwide spot in the Disney+ TV shows institutional sector, demonstrating solid popularity. Alongside countries ranked in the top tier last week, it entered the top 10 in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, confirming the affection of an expanded global fan base.
Also, TV buzz analysis firm Good Data Corporation's FUNdex announced on the 21st that in the third week of October (Oct. 13–Oct. 19) in the TV drama buzz category, "Would You Merry Me" ranked third, drawing strong viewer interest. Episode 4 recorded a peak rating of 8.9%, and the 20-49 target rating climbed to a high of 2.78%. In particular, the 20-49 target peak rating rose for four consecutive episodes, proving its buzz.
Behind this buzz is the explosive dopamine from "Would You Merry Me"'s fast pacing. In the drama, Kim Woo-ju (Choi Woo-shik) and Yoo Meri (Jung So-min) quickly overcome crisis situations, delivering thrilling enjoyment. Especially as the two work to prevent their fake marriage from being discovered, a romance formula that makes hearts flutter unfolds, amplifying the excitement.
Also drawing attention is director Song Hyun-wook's signature ending cut that adds power to the fast pacing. In episode 4, it was revealed that Woo-ju, who actively entered the fake marriage with Meri, discovered that Meri was actually the key-ring girl from his first love, and he had been helping the endangered Meri, and his unwavering devotion amplified viewers' excitement.
