Actor Moon Jeong-hee is publishing a photo essay about her life with Manou, the golden retriever that became her family.
Moon Jeong-hee is publishing seven years of life with the golden retriever Manou as the book "Manou story." The book is filled with the life of the golden retriever Manou, who became her family—from the first meeting with fluffy puppy Manou, through adolescence and an energetic youth, to receiving a cancer diagnosis and the day of parting—documenting life as a pet owner who became family in detail.
Earlier, Moon Jeong-hee held a free photo exhibition in May titled "Golden companion - happy moments with my golden retriever Manou," which captured memories with Manou. Through the exhibition she expressed a desire to offer comfort to owners suffering pet loss, and in the book she deeply shares everything from detailed caregiving tips accumulated with Manou to the meaning of being a pet family, the attitudes needed when living with children, the accompanying responsibilities, and the process of facing farewell. The book is expected to serve as a guide for those welcoming a pet by discussing many aspects that pet families should consider.
Manou story will be published through Muje, a publishing house run by actor Park Jung-min. Through this connection, Moon Jeong-hee will hold a book concert with Park Jung-min on Nov. 2 at the Daegu EXCO during FASAVA 2025 (the 13th Asian Small Animal Veterinary Conference in 2025). Moderated by Park Jung-min, the author Moon Jeong-hee will be joined on the panel by Heo Chan, director of S Animal Medical Center, and Lee Hak-beom, CEO of Dailyvet. They will have an in-depth discussion of the candid and warm stories Moon Jeong-hee included in the book.
Moon Jeong-hee's book Manou story will be available at bookstores nationwide on Oct. 29. Meanwhile, Moon Jeong-hee has confirmed her next project, Disney+'s Goldland, and is currently filming. The work depicts Hee-ju (played by Park Bo-young), who accidentally receives gold bullion from a smuggling ring, and is consumed by the desire to seize the gold bullion amid a chaos of greed and betrayal among those surrounding the bullion. Moon Jeong-hee plays Hee-ju's mother, Yeo Seon-ok, portraying a mother-daughter relationship of love and hate that will add to the drama's appeal.
