Actor Kim Sung-oh raised viewers' immersion to the extreme with his "crazy instinct."
Kim Sung-oh played detective Choi Cheol in the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Shin's Project, broadcast on the 20th and 21st, confronting the mastermind behind a case from 15 years ago head-on and delivering powerful shocks and emotion to viewers.
In the drama, Choi Cheol was injured by Yoon Dong-hee (played by Min Seong-wook), but even in a life-threatening condition he did not stop his investigative instincts. He revealed that the person who spoke last on the phone to Yoon Dong-hee's attending physician just before the doctor's death was National Forensic Hospital director Lee Heo-jun (played by Park Hyuk-kwon), and he demonstrated sharp deductive skills that suggested Lee Heo-jun could be behind Yoon Dong-hee or be the next target.
He also told Shin (played by Han Suk-kyu) about Yoon Dong-hee's past victims, Han Ji-young and Lee Han-jun, saying that all of this was "murder disguised as accidents." In the process, Kim Sung-oh added weight to the role of detective Choi Cheol with a strong sense of responsibility and piercing looks as he immersed himself in the truth of the case.
Choi Cheol's fighting spirit after his injury also shone when he returned to the scene immediately. He returned not only to the accident scene where he had been harmed but also to the front of Lee Heo-jun's house where Lee had encountered another victim, Kim Yong-woo (played by Jo Hee-bong), sharpening his instincts. In particular, Kim Sung-oh created tension in the scene confronting Park Hyuk-kwon by showing suspicious looks and a tense power struggle.
Near the end of the broadcast, Choi Cheol detected signs that Kim Yong-woo deliberately exposed himself to CCTV before he died, creating an intriguing development. Sensing that Kim Yong-woo's actions might be a hidden message, he unleashed his "crazy instinct," arousing curiosity about the next episode.
Kim Sung-oh's intense performance is expected to be further amplified as the series approaches its finale. With only two episodes remaining, attention will be fixed until the end on whether Choi Cheol can join forces with Shin to uncover the hidden mastermind behind the case from 15 years ago.
