Comedian Park Bomi and soccer player Park Yohan burst into tears as they recalled the time they lost their 15-month-old son.
On March 21 the preview for next week aired at the end of TV CHOSUN's "Our baby was born again." The preview featured comedian Park Bomi and soccer player Park Yohan, drawing attention.
At their appearance, MC Park Suhong, referring to the pain of having lost their 15-month-old son first, said, "When the whole nation heard that sorrow, it was too sudden..." and could not hide his sympathy.
Park Bomi recalled the heartbreaking moment, saying, "His body suddenly stiffened in my arms and then went completely limp." She added, "At the funeral home they wrote, 'Angel Park Simon' exactly like that," speaking of their son who remained an angel forever, and Park Yohan, who was beside her, shed tears of sadness, making the moment more moving.
Especially, Park Bomi, who was pregnant with their second daughter at the time of filming, said, "I am now 34 weeks," updating viewers on her condition. The preview also announced the couple's second childbirth story, drawing attention.
Earlier, Park Bomi and Park Yohan married in December 2020, and in 2022 they welcomed their first son, Simon. But in May of the following year, due to febrile convulsions, they had to let go of Simon, who was then 15 months old. When the news spread, many people shared their sorrow and offered comfort and support to the couple.
Then, two years after losing Simon, in May of this year they announced the pregnancy of a daughter, Seolbok (fetal name), receiving many congratulations. Ahead of Seolbok's birth, Park Bomi also revealed a long diary she had written about her feelings at the time Simon passed. She confessed her guilt, saying, "After returning home, whenever I closed my eyes I couldn't because I kept recalling Simon having a seizure in my arms. It was so agonizing and hard. At first I wondered why this happened to me, why this happened to our angel-like son, I blamed myself and wanted to turn back time."
Ultimately, after receiving test results showing no response in his brain, they decided to let Simon go. Park Bomi said, "I became certain that angel Park Simon waited until his mother and father made their decision in their hearts. I was grateful to and sorry for Simon. From beginning to end, Simon endured and held on completely for his mother and father; I cried because I felt sorry and grateful, but we vowed not to cry in front of Simon," recounting Simon's final moments.
She added, "Through Simon we are going through a process of feeling and learning many things. Simon received and gave so much love during his 15 months. It may be short, but our Simon showed so many miracles; I hope everyone finds comfort and strength through him." She continued, "If that day his heart hadn't started beating again in the emergency room, mom wouldn't have been able to live fully, Simon. Thank you so much. I'll see you in heaven," making the moment even more moving.
Later, on the 2nd, Park Bomi safely welcomed her daughter Seolbok into her arms. Through her social media, Park Bomi announced the birth and wrote, "Thankful, thankful, thankful again."
