Group Somangcha alumnus Kim Tae-hyung is plunged into deep sorrow after the death of his wife.
On the 22nd, Kim Tae-hyung's side said his wife and choreographer Kim Kyung-ran died that day from a chronic illness. She was 62.
The funeral wake is set up in Room Special 6 at the Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital funeral hall. The funeral procession will be at 6 a.m. on the 24th, and the burial site is Somang-dongsan.
Kim Kyung-ran was a former choreographer. She appeared on MBC's 2012 program "A Good Day" and was known to have helped with Somangcha's performance. Kim Kyung-ran said, "I participated in most of Somangcha's choreography. I made the choreography for 'On the Phone,' and even simple steps looked completely different when Somangcha performed them," and added, "He said someday he would tell people I made them, but he didn't, and I was disappointed."
Kim Tae-hyung debuted in 1987 as a member of the group Somangcha. After the group disbanded, he became an entertainment entrepreneur and producer. As a producer, he introduced the five-member mixed group World in 1995 and discovered the group NRG in 1997. He also produced the girl group T.T.Ma.
Kim Tae-hyung and Kim Kyung-ran married in 1991 and had a daughter.
