Bada and Eugene recalled the time S.E.S. debuted.
The Feb. 20 broadcast of Channel A's "Close Friends To-kyumentary - Table for Four" (hereinafter Table for Four) featured first-generation original idol S.E.S. member Bada, who invited close friends Eugene and Brian.
Park Kyung-rim said she thought S.E.S. didn't seem like Korean singers. Eugene said, "When I first saw Bada she was striking. We met wearing school uniforms for the audition, and she had shortened her uniform, so I thought she might be a troublemaker. Sho had permed hair. With red lipstick she seemed completely like an adult, so I thought 'this kid is a troublemaker,'" she said, explaining she was shocked at the time.
She added, "Both were so pretty. Bada seemed like a foreigner. She wasn't shy."
Bada said, "I felt reassured by Eugene. I realized I wasn't the center when I saw Eugene. I was confident because I was fresh in my own way. (Seeing Eugene) I thought to myself, 'Her personality must be bad, right? I'll find a flaw somehow,'" she said. Bada added, "Sho had a pretty figure and a feminine vibe. Her personality was very gentle. She always called me unni, unni."
Eugene recalled, "I lived in Guam and during vacation I stayed at my cousin's house and debuted after five months as a trainee. I couldn't even greet my friends in Guam."
Bada also said, "Two of the most important things in my life were happening: college entrance and debut. I practiced until 10 p.m., came back to the dorm and worked on problem books. Eugene peeled fruit and said, 'Eat and then do it.' She was like a mother," expressing her gratitude to Eugene. She continued, "The audition piece was in English, so I asked Eugene for help. I asked her to write the English lyrics in Korean with their meanings. I passed as the top performer in the practical exam."
Bada said she still has the lyric sheets Eugene wrote 28 years ago, saying, "After my mother passed away I thought everything was gone. Three weeks ago I found three boxes," which moved everyone. Bada also revealed a series of nostalgic photos capturing her beautiful days.
