The film "Sinui Akdan" (director: Kim Hyung-hyup | distributor: CJ CGV Co., Ltd. | production: Studio Target Co., Ltd. | release: Dec. 2025), confirmed for release in December, has released three press stills that capture the varied charms of actor Park Si-hoo, who returns to the screen after 10 years.
"Sinui Akdan" has released three press stills that capture the varied charms of actor Park Si-hoo, who returns to the screen after 10 years.
The film "Sinui Akdan" is a work about what happens when a fake praise troupe is created in North Korea to earn foreign currency. Park Si-hoo plays North Korean State Security Ministry officer Park Gyo-soon, who receives the absurd order to form a fake praise troupe to evade sanctions against the North.
The newly released stills immediately capture attention with Park Si-hoo perfectly transformed into the protagonist Park Gyo-soon. First, a still showing him in uniform with a pained expression against a red curtain hints at the complex inner life of a cool-headed State Security officer who is nonetheless bewildered by an unpredictable operation, arousing curiosity.
Next, a still of him wearing sunglasses against a vast snowy plain radiates the cold charisma and overwhelming aura of a North Korean elite officer. It offers a glimpse of the film's scale, realized through overseas locations in Mongolia and Hungary, while foreshadowing the arduous journey of the operation he must lead.
Finally, a shot of him in a pristine white uniform looking straight ahead and saluting creates a mood 180 degrees different from the previous two stills, maximizing intrigue. Despite returning to the screen after 10 years, Park Si-hoo delivers a flawless embodiment of the character; he portrays with delicate acting the ironic situation and inner conflict of a man who yesterday tortured underground church members but today must lead a praise troupe, promising to bring audiences both laughter and tears.
"Sinui Akdan," which raises expectations by releasing character stills filled with explosive charisma, will meet audiences nationwide in December.
